A marine scientist is giving free online courses in ocean science for parents looking to entertain and educate their children at home during COVID-19.
The site offers both live and on-demand classes for kids from 18 months to age six, and they vary in subject matter from science—"all about your tongue"—to read alouds and crafting.
The weekly courses provide students in grades 1-12 with a unique opportunity to explore various science, technology, engineering, art and math.
Sixty-eight percent of kids who say their schools offer computer science courses say they want to learn more about the topic, compared with 49 percent in schools that don’t offer the classes.
